Used for over 1,000 years by nomads, this fibre has earned an important place in the world of luxury over recent decades. Indeed, the fine down produced by this imposing bovine is as soft as cashmere (its fibre diameter is only 16 to 20 microns). Its wool is warmer than merino wool and just as robust as camel wool.
The air pockets created within the fibre of the women's yak sweater ensure heat retention. Furthermore, this wool possesses excellent moisture-absorbing properties and anti-microbial qualities that make it a luxury "breathable fibre".
