The smart-casual spirit

The THAMES combines the codes of the zip gilet with the fineness of a 2-ply cashmere.

Its stand collar structures the neckline and reinforces its sporty character, while its straight cut offers a natural and comfortable fit. The zip fastening allows it to be worn open or closed and makes layering easy.

The fine ribbing at the cuffs and hem provides hold while preserving the understated elegance of the silhouette.

The craft

The 2-ply cashmere offers a particularly sought-after balance between fineness, softness and lightness. This construction produces a supple knit, easy to wear throughout the seasons and fine enough to be layered under a jacket or coat.

Integrating the zip requires precise construction in order to preserve the regularity of the line and the natural suppleness of the knit.

The stand collar and the delicate ribbed finishes structure the whole with understated refinement, allowing the softness of the cashmere to take centre stage.

The First Collection

The THAMES belongs to our First collection, a selection of 20 100% cashmere styles crafted in limited runs and offered at particularly considered prices.

To create this collection, we source small surpluses of new cashmere yarn from specialist spinners, of a quality comparable to that used for our other collections.

These limited quantities are not well suited to large-scale industrial production, but are a perfect match for our expertise in small runs.

We are thus able to give value to existing yarns that might otherwise have remained unused, transforming them in our workshop in Nepal, to the same exacting standards of construction, finishing and quality control as the rest of our collections.

This is what we at Mahogany call premium recycling: not making something new from something old, but creating something new from new materials already available.

Limited edition

The availability of the THAMES depends directly on the small quantities of yarn selected for its production. The style is therefore offered in limited stock and may not necessarily be reproduced once the materials are exhausted.
