The vicuña is a mythical animal, living mainly in Peru, at high altitude. Resembling a small llama (but actually belonging to the camelid family), this adorable creature produces the finest and softest fibre in existence.
Nothing can be softer, rarer or more exceptional than a vicuña scarf or stole. Nearly extinct not so long ago, the vicuña is now being saved thanks to the value of its fibre. There are only 300,000 free-roaming animals in the world, fortunately a number that is now growing. It took us a full year to succeed in importing the fibre of this extremely protected animal, and to our knowledge, there are only 2 other importers in Europe.
